How accurate are PAYG tax calculations?
Wage Calculator uses official ATO tax brackets and rates for 2025-26. All PAYG income tax, HECS repayments, and Medicare levy calculations follow current Australian tax law.
Can I compare job offers with different salaries?
Yes! Use our salary comparison tool to compare take-home pay between job offers, including superannuation contributions and tax implications.
Do you store my salary information?
No, all calculations are performed in your browser. Wage Calculator doesn't store or transmit your personal financial data.
What HECS repayment thresholds are used?
For 2026-27, compulsory HECS-HELP repayments start at $69,528. We apply the current marginal repayment method to income within each repayment band, aligned to published ATO/StudyAssist guidance.
How is Medicare levy calculated?
Medicare levy is 2% of taxable income above $28,011 (2026-27). We include shade-in rates and exemptions for low-income earners.
Can I calculate hourly rates from annual salary?
Yes, Wage Calculator converts between annual salary, hourly rates, and weekly pay, factoring in Australian working hours and leave entitlements.
