Analytics and ads

Analytics are cookieless; if ads are enabled, third-party ad providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies.

1. What we collect

WageCalculator does not collect, store, or transmit your calculator inputs to perform tax calculations. All calculations — income tax, Medicare levy, HECS/HELP, superannuation, salary sacrifice — are performed entirely in your browser. Closing or refreshing the page clears all calculation data from the page.

2. Analytics

We use PostHog, an open-source analytics platform, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Analytics run in cookieless mode — no cookies or persistent identifiers are stored on your device. Each page session is fully anonymous.

We track only feature usage patterns (such as which calculators and page sections are used). Your salary, income, or any other financial inputs are never included in analytics data.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal or Global Privacy Control header, analytics are disabled entirely.

3. Advertising

Some pages may display advertising from third-party providers such as Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, those providers may receive limited technical information such as your IP address, browser details, approximate location, and page URL in order to serve, measure, and protect ads.

We do not pass your salary, tax, or other calculator inputs to advertising providers for ad targeting. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies and any consent choices shown on the site.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site does not use cookies for core calculator functionality. We use browser local storage only to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode). Analytics run in cookieless mode with no persistent storage. If advertising is enabled, third-party ad providers may set cookies or use similar technologies on pages where ads appear.

5. External links

Some pages link to external resources — the ATO, government salary portals, enterprise agreement repositories, and the Tax Practitioners Board. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
