Wage Calculator

Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 July 2026

The short version: your salary figures never leave your browser, analytics never record what you type, and the only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form.

Inputs stay on your device

Every calculation runs in your browser. Salary and tax figures are never uploaded.

Respectful analytics

PostHog is cookieless; Google Analytics may set cookies. Both are disabled if your browser asks not to be tracked.

Messages are reply-only

Contact-form details go to our support inbox, are used only to reply, and are never sold or added to lists.

1. Calculator inputs never leave your browser

Every calculation on Wage Calculator — income tax, Medicare levy, HECS/HELP, superannuation, salary sacrifice, and the rest — runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type are not sent to or stored on our servers, and there are no accounts or logins. Refreshing or closing the page clears them.

2. When you contact us

The contact form is the one place on the site where you can send us personal information: your name, email address and message. If you report a calculation error, you can also choose to include the income or pay details, expected result, and actual result so we can reproduce it — these fields are optional and sent only when you fill them in. Submissions are checked by Google reCAPTCHA to filter spam (Google receives standard technical data such as your IP address for that check), then delivered to our support inbox as an email through Resend, our email delivery provider. We don’t store submissions in a database.

We use your details only to reply to you. They are never sold, shared for marketing, or added to a mailing list. You can also skip the form entirely and email hello@wagecalculator.com.au directly.

3. Analytics

We use PostHog, an open-source analytics platform, to understand which pages and features are used so we can improve them. PostHog runs in cookieless mode: no cookies or persistent identifiers are stored on your device, and each visit is anonymous. We also use Google Analytics to measure overall traffic; Google Analytics may set cookies on your device for this purpose.

Analytics record page paths and feature usage only — never the salary, income or other figures you enter into a calculator.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control header, both PostHog and Google Analytics are disabled entirely.

4. Advertising

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, click here: Advertising Privacy Statement.

When ads are shown, advertising providers may receive limited technical information — IP address, browser details, approximate location and the page URL — to serve and measure ads, and may set cookies according to their own policies and any consent choices shown on the site.

We never pass your calculator inputs to advertising providers.

5. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps standard, short-lived request logs (IP address, browser details, requested page) for security and operations. These logs are not used to identify or profile visitors.

6. Cookies and local storage

The calculators themselves use no cookies. We use browser local storage for one thing: remembering your light/dark theme preference. Cookies come from Google Analytics and, on pages where ads appear, from advertising providers — as described above.

7. External links

Pages link to external resources — the ATO, government salary portals, enterprise agreement repositories and the Tax Practitioners Board. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don’t control.

8. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be visible here before they take effect.
