About Victorian Custodial Officers

The Custodial Officers (COG) classification structure covers Corrections Victoria prison staff under Appendix 1 of the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024. The structure maintains a rank system from COG 1 (Trainee) through COG 7 (Senior General Manager — Major Prison Facilities), with salaries based on 80-hour fortnights. Officers may also receive allowances for dog handling, emergency response group membership, and shift work.
